The new £14m NHS Cobridge Primary Care Centre includes a state of the art community health centre and a purpose built sexual health unit, which will offer a range of specialist services to benefit local communities.
The health centre, which incorporates two buildings, Block A and B, each includes a range of environmental features to minimise waste and maximise their efficiency. Myriad CEG has assisted with maximising their efficiency by installing 348 solar PV panels.
Our client Wates Construction were required to provide 284m² of PV on block A and 150m² of PV on block B in order to meet their Energy Performance Certificate requirements of the building.
Myriad CEG provided 223 X UPSolar 190W panels on block A and 125 X UPSolar 190W on block B using proprietary standing seam mounting clips and rails. There were numerous obstacles on the roofs which the specialist team managed to avoid using detailed design and correct consideration. This innovation enabled us to meet both the specification and a tight install programme.
The partners involved in this newbuild were NHS Stoke on Trent, Prima 200 and Prime Plc. Wates Construction was awarded the contact to build the development by Prima 200.
