Applications Invited for Next Stage of Plugged-in Fleets Initiative Print E-mail

Energy Saving Trust (EST) has announced it will be offering 100 organisations in England a free analysis of their fleets to see if and how electric vehicles will work for them. The initiative, funded by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, follows the successful completion of the original Plugged-in Fleets Initiative (PIFI).

Improved PAS 91 Will Fly The Flag For Safety Says ECA Print E-mail

The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) says the revisions to PAS 91 set a new standard for pre-qualification and site safety. The new document, published on 8 April, aims to cut down bureaucracy associated with pre-qualification, cutting costs for contractors without compromising on safety.

STA Urges Government To “support free trade and tackle climate change” Print E-mail

The STA is very disappointed that the European Commission has proposed provisional duties on Chinese imported solar panels of between 37% and 67% [1]. The STA opposes the imposition of any duties which restrict free trade and the growth of the solar market.

ESC Patron Raises Part P Concerns in Parliament Print E-mail

The new amendment to Part P, which means a reduction in notifiable work, has just come into effect. Further changes allowing the use of a registered third party to certify such work (as an alternative to using a building control body) will follow later this year.
